ALL INCLUSIVE - means rate is inclusive of Currency 
Adjustment Factor, Bunker Adjustment Factor, CFS 
Receiving Charge and Terminal Handling Charge only.
 
CARGO, N.O.S. - means commodities not otherwise 
specified in individual commodity items in this 
Tariff. (Non-Hazardous)
 
CARRIER(S) CONTAINER(S) - SHIPPER(S) CONTAINER(S) - The
term "Carrier(s) Container(s) - Shipper(s) Container(s)"
means containers over which the Carrier or the Shipper
has control by ownership or by acquisition thereof
under lease or rental from container companies or
container suppliers or from similar sources.
 
CHASSIS - means a wheeled assembly, with or without
chassis, constructed to accept mounting of a demountable
trailer body, container of flexi-van.
 
COFC - means container on flat car service in which 
containers without chassis, bogies, or wheels are
loaded on cars or other equipment for inland 
transportation.
 
CONSIGNEE - means the person, firm or corporation shown 
on the Bill of Lading as the receiver of the property 
transported by the Carrier.
 
CONSIGNOR - means the person, firm or corporation shown
on the Bill of Lading as the Shipper of the property
received by the Carrier for transportation.
 
CONTAINER OR TRAILER - means a single, rigid 
non-disposable dry cargo, insulated temperature or 
atmosphere controlled box, flatrack, vehicle rack, 
open top with or without wheels or bogies. Trailer may 
also be used to refer to flatbed truck or trailer. The 
term trailer may be used interchangably with the term 
container.
 
CONTAINER YARD (CY) - The term CY means the location(s)
designated by Carrier for receiving, assembling, holding,
sorting and delivering containers.
 
CONTAINER FREIGHT STATION (CFS) - The term CFS at origin
means the location(s) designated by Carrier for the
receiving of cargo to be packed into containers by the
Carrier. At destination, the term CFS means the 
location(s) designated by Carrier for unpacking and 
delivery of cargo.
 
DAY - means a twenty-four (24) hour period beginning at
12:01 A.M.
 
DIVERSION - means a change in Consignee, destination 
or route.
 
DRY CARGO - means Cargo other than that requiring 
temperature control, atmospher control or bulk cargo.
 
EUROPE - means the countries of Austria, Belgium,
France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands and 
Switzerland.
 
HOLIDAYS - means New Year's Day, Washington's Birthday,
Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veterans' Day,
Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day - all U.S. holidays.
 
ONE COMMODITY - means any or all of the articles 
described in any one rate item in this Tariff.
 
PACKING (STUFFING) - The term packing means the actual 
placing of cargo into the container but does not 
include loading into a truck, rail car or any other 
conveyance.
 
PER CONTAINER RATE - Rates and/or charge on shipments 
transported in containers or trailers and rated on 
the basis of the category of the container or trailer.
 
SCANDINAVIA/BALTIC - mean the following countries:
Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
 
SHIPMENT - means a quantity of goods received at one 
time at one origin from one Consignor to one Consignee.
 
TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED CARGO - any cargo requiring 
carriage under controlled temperature.
 
UNITED KINGDOM - means the countries of the United 
Kingdom and Ireland.
 
UNPACKING (STRIPPING) - The term unpacking means the
removal of cargo from the container but does not include
unloading from truck, rail car or any other conveyance.
 
VEHICLE - means a container as more fully defined 
under container.
 
WATER CARRIER - means Con-Way Intermodal.
 
WORKING DAY - mean that period of each Calendar day 
excepting Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from 
8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
 
Where Location Groups are used in this Tariff, the
