ADVANCE CHARGES Forwarder's, Shipper's and/or Consignee's charges on Bills of Lading (not ocean freight charges) may be accepted provided that they are indicated on all copies of the Bill of Lading prior to being submitted to the Line. Such charges shall be accepted without Carrier's responsibility, up to a maximum of USD $1000.00 and are at the full risk of the Forwarder, Shipper and/or Consignee at all times. Such charges must be shown in U.S. Dollars. On such charges, the Line will assess a Collection Commission of Ten Percent (10%) of the charges collected, subject to a minimum charge per Bill of Lading of USD $25.00. If Carrier is required to make changes to these charges, subsequent to preparation of the vessel's manifest, an additional collection fee of USD $100.00 per change will be assessed. In the event that advance charges are to be made to any port in the scope of tariffs making reference hereto, charges must be submitted within 48 hours of the vessel's sailing from the port of loading. Any requests to add advance charges made after this time period will not be accepted. Such ADVANCE CHARGES will be applicable to shipments from all U.S. Atlantic and West Coast Ports to all areas covered within the Scope of Tariff #156.
