The liability of the carrier as to the value of shipments at the rates provided in this tariff shall be determined in accordance with the carrier's Bill of Lading (see Rule 8). If the shipper desires to be covered for a valuation in excess of that allowed by the carrier's regular Bill of Lading, then the shipper must so stipulate in the manner required by the carrier's Bill of Lading, covering such shipment and such additional liability only will be assumed by the carrier at the request of the shipper and upon payment of an additional charge of two percent (2%) Ad Valorem of the total declared valuation in addition to the stipulated rate on the commodities shipped as specified herein. A shipper who has elected to show value of the goods on the Bill of Lading shall be deemed to have desired to be covered for the value in excess of that allowed by the carrier's regular Bill of Lading, and shall be assessed the additional Ad Valorem charge contained in this rule.
