NYK will promptly and fairly consider shippers' requests and complaints and advise the shippers as to action taken on such requests and complaints. Requests and complaints may be made by filing with NYK a statement which specifies that exact nature of the request or complaint and the relief requested. As used in this document the phrase "requests and complaints" means any communication requesting a change in tariff rates, rules or regulations; objecting to rate increases or other tariff changes; and protests against alleged erroneous billings due to an incorrect commodity classification incorrect measurement of cargo, or other implementation of the tariff. (Routine requests for rate information sailing schedules, space availability and the like are not included in the foregoing.) Requests for reduced rates should give details of commodity value, packing weight/measurement ratio, prospective volume, proposed rate requested and all other revelant details.
