CONTAINER TYPES - AC,DF,FB,FR,GC,HH,IN,OT,PC,PL,RF,TK,TL,VR
1. Cargo rated on a per container basis are assessed
rates applicable on the basis of the total number of
each different size and type of container in the
shipment.
2. Carrier may, at its option, apportion the freight for
a given shipment between two or more Bills of Lading.
This apportionment will be pro-rated on the basis
of the ratio of the gross weight on each Bill of Lading
to the total gross weight of the shipment, and is
subject to the minimum Bill of Lading charges in Rule 6.
In no case will the total freight for all such pro-
rated Bills of Lading be less than the total freight
that would have accrued if the all containers in the
shipment had moved under only one Bill of Lading.
3. In the absence of specific container rates for 20'
40' x 8'6", 45' x 8'6" containers, the following
rules will apply:
- To determine the freight rate for 20' containers,
multiply the through freight rate of the 40' x 8'6"
container by 75% and round off to the nearest five
dollars.
- To determine the freight rate for 40' x 9'6"
containers, multiply the through freight of 40' x 8'6"
container by 112.5% and round off to the nearest
five dollars.
- To determine the freight rate for 45' x 9'6"
containers, multiply the through freight rate of the
40' x 8'6" container by 126.6% and round off to the
nearest five dollars.
4. In cases where the ocean freight is assessed on a per
container basis, if there are any applicable accessorial
charges (including but not limited to, Origin and/or
Destination CY/CFS charges) which are also on a per
container basis, then the per container accessorial
charges must always be applied instead of the per
revenue ton charges.
