RULE: 2.100 - CARGO IN SHIPPER-FURNISHED CONTAINERS Eff: 05MAR1999

In lieu of carrier-owned or controlled containers, shipper may offer cargo for transportation in shipper-furnished containers, including tank containers, subject to the following: 1. Such container must conform with definition contained in Rule 28. 2. Such containers are subject to inspection and acceptance for carriage on carrier's vessel by carrier's authorized personnel prior to loading. Any container found to be unsuitable will not be accepted for carriage. 3. Cargo will be subject to all rates, rules and regulations of this tariff. 4. Containers moving under this rule will be exempt from equipment detention rules (See Rule 21-020). 5. Shipments in Shipper-furnished containers will only be accepted in CY/CY service. 6. Shipper will be required by carrier to submit documentary evidence of ownership or leasing of container being offered for shipment. 7.
