Unless otherwise specified in individual tariff line
items: PORT TO PORT RATES:
1. Apply for containerizeable cargo received at container
yard or container freight station locations at origin
ports and released to consignee at container yard or
container freight station locations at destination
ports.
All expenses prior to such receipt and subsequent to
such release are for the account of the cargo,
including, but not limited to, origin receiving and
destination terminal handling charges provided in this
tariff (Rule 23), cargo demurrage (Rule 23) and
equipment use charges (Rule 21 and NYK Equipment
Interchange Agreement Tariff FMC 180).
2. Apply for non-containerizeable cargo from and to ship's
side or at end of crane used to lift cargo into or out
of a vessel, and include the on-shore or on-lighter
hooking of slings or loads to the loading gear.
All expenses beyond ship's side are for the account
of the cargo, including, but not limited to, origin
receiving and destination terminal handling charges
provided in this tariff, R. S. and D. charges, tolls,
wharfage, lighterage and cost of lading at port of
interchange.
3. Are based on direct loading and direct discharge at
vessel loading berths in base ports.
Subject to collection of all applicable outport,
non-loading port or other applicable tariff rates or
charges, NYK may, at its option, absorb the cost of:
a. Substituting the service of someone else to
transport cargo between the port of ultimate
origin or destination and another port where NYK's
vessel actually calls, and/or
b. Transporting cargo within a base port
4. No equalization is permitted, except as between
WC origin ports as described in Rule No. 1-02E.

7. For non-loading port arbitrary charges see Rule 10.
