Except as otherwise provided, all cargo moving under this
tariff is subject to origin receiving charges as specified
below.

1.The origin receiving charge applies in addition to the
  minimum Bill of Lading charge specified in Rule 6.

2.Except as otherwise provided, the following is included in
  the origin receiving charge after the cargo has been
  received by the carrier at carrier's terminal or vessel
  berth:

  - Loading the cargo onto the vessel;

  - Wharfage assessed by the port or applicable terminal
    tariffs.

3.Except as otherwise provided, the following services
  are not included in the origin receiving charge:

  - Any charges prior to cargo receipt by carrier;

  - Any unloading charge from the shipper's, or shipper's
    agent's, delivering carrier including but not limited
    to:

       - Rail equipment unloading charges for unpacking
         cargo from rail cars or rail trailer equipment;

       - Charges for unloading cargo from an inland
         carrier's equipment.

4.The origin receiving charge shall be prepaid, except where
  freight is billed collect, the origin receiving charge may
  be billed collect and collected in U.S. dollars or its
  equivalent in local currency at carrier's option.

5.Each commodity description contained on a Bill of Lading
  is subject to a minimum origin receiving charge based on
  one revenue ton.  In the event that both Hazardous (HAZ)
  and Non-hazardous (NHZ) cargo are shipped under the same
  commodity description, each cargo type tariff line item
  will be subject to a minimum of one revenue ton per Bill
  of Lading.

6.Origin receiving charges expressed on a rate basis apply
  on the same rate basis as cargo is freighted.

  - When cargo is freighted on a rate basis for which there
    is no equivalent in the origin receiving charge, then:

    - if cargo is freighted on an EA or per container basis
      (PC,AC,DF,FB,FR,GC,HH,IN,OT,PL,RF,TK,TL,or VR) then
      assess the origin receiving charge on the basis of
      1000 kgs.

    - if cargo is freighted on an AV, LS or MBM basis, then
      assess the origin receiving charge on the basis of
      1000 kgs or 1 cubic meter whichever produces the
      greater charge.

7.When cargo moves under a rate that is subject to a minimum
  quantity requirement, the same minimum applies to the
  origin receiving charges expressed on that rate basis.

8.Where there is no origin receiving charge specified (n/a),
  wharfage, handling and terminal charges, if any, apply as
  per origin port terminal tariff, are outside of carrier's
  control, and are not covered by the charges in this
  tariff.

Exceptions:

 The receiving charge does not apply to cotton item
 52-1000-0000.  Please refer to the specific origin
 receiving charges in that item.
