ALL INCLUSIVE - Unless otherwise specified under a
 particular tariff rule or rate item, the term "all
 inclusive" is defined as including the CY or CFS
 Destination Delivery Charge, and the Store Door Delivery
 Charge if applicable.

BASE PORT - means the destination port to which tariff
 rates generally apply and which is used as the base
 point for determining the application of outport
 arbitraries.

BOXCAR - means rail boxcar as defined in the Official
 Railway Equipment Register. (See Rule No. 2-300)

CARGO, N.O.S. - means commodities not otherwise specified
 in individual commodity items.

CARRIER(S) - means participating ocean carrier(s).

CHASSIS - means a wheeled assembly, with or without
 chassis, constructed to accept mounting of a demountable
 trailer body, container or flexi-van.

COFC - means a container on flat car rail service in which
 container without chassis, bogies, or wheels are loaded
 on rail cars.

COFC RAIL CARRIER'S TERMINALS - Rail carrier's terminal at
 which both COFC and TOFC container can be handled.

CONSIGNEE - means the person, firm or corporation shown on
 the Bill of Lading as the receiver of the property
 transported by the carrier.

CONSIGNOR - means the person, firm or corporation shown on
 the Bill of Lading as the shipper of the property
 received by the carrier for transportation.

CONTAINER DEPOT (CD) - means a location designated by an
 ocean carrier where the ocean carrier or his authorized
 agents makes available empty containers to shippers or
 or inland carriers.

CONTAINER OR TRAILER - means a single, rigid non-disposable
 dry cargo, insulated, temperature or atmosphere
 controlled, dropframe, flatrack, open top, platform,
 vehicle rack, top loader or tank as defined in the
 Official Intermodal Equipment Register, with or without
 wheels or bogies; a trailer means a flatbed truck or
 trailers.  The term trailer may be used interchangeably
 with the term container.

CONTAINER FREIGHT STATION (CFS) - A location designated by
 the ocean carrier at origin or destination ports where
 the carrier or his authorized agent receives cargo to be
 moved in containers or delivers cargo which has moved in
 containers.

CONTAINER YARD (CY) - A location designated by an ocean
 carrier at origin or destination ports where (1) the
 ocean carrier or his authorized agent assembles, holds,
 or stores containers and chassis, (2) where loaded
 containers are received from shippers; delivered to
 consignees; or interchanged from rail carrier(s), and (3)
 where empty containers may be picked up by shippers or
 returned by consignees or interchanged to rail carrier(s).

CY AND CFS CARGO

1. CY Cargo is that cargo loaded into or unloaded from
   transport equipment by a shipper or consignee outside
   of carrier's terminal facility.

2. CFS Cargo is that cargo tendered to or received from a
   carrier at his terminal and loaded into or unloaded
   from transport equipment by the carrier.

DAY - means a twenty-four (24) hour period beginning at
      12:01 A.M.

DELIVERY ORDER - means a document issued by the carrier or
 its agent authorizing the terminal operator to release all
 or a portion of a shipment to a consignee or its agent.
 More than one Delivery Order may be issued on a single
 shipment and/or Bill of Lading.

DIVERSION - means a change in consignee, destinations or
 route.

DRY CARGO - means cargo other than that requiring
 temperature control, atmosphere control (Rule No. 2-140)
 or bulk cargo (Rule No. 2-120).

GENERAL CARGO - means cargo other than that requiring
 temperature control, but excluding household goods,
 personal effects, privately owned vehicles and returned
 cargo (Rule 7).

GOODS - means the cargo described on the face of the
 Bill of Lading and, if the cargo is packed into
 container(s) supplied or furnished by or on behalf of
 the merchant, includes the container(s) as well.

HOLIDAYS - means New Year's Day, Washington's Birthday
 Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veterans'
 Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day - all U.S.
 holidays.
 At destinations, "holidays" means general and statutory
 holidays of the destination country.

INTERCHANGE PORT - A Pacific or Atlantic Coast port named
 in Rule 1 in this tariff where container or cargo in
 breakbulk condition are discharged from Ocean Carrier
 vessel and interchanged between Ocean Carrier and inland
 carrier.

KILO TON - means 1,000 kilos.

KNOCKED DOWN (KD) - A commodity taken apart, folded or
 telescoped in such a manner as to reduce its bulk at least
 33 1/3% from its normal shipping cubage when set up or
 assembled.

KNOCKED DOWN FLAT (KD FLAT) - A commodity taken apart,
 folded or telescoped in such a manner as to reduce its
 bulk at least 66 2/3% from its normal shipping cubage when
 set up or assembled.

LABEL CARGO - Label cargo shall be undertsood to include
 all commodities requiring a label according to the
 provisions of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods
 Code as issued by the International Maritime Organization.

LOADING PORT - means an origin port regularly served by
 carrier from which tariff rates generally apply and which
 is used as the basing point for application of non-loading
 port charges.

MERCHANT - includes the shipper, consignor, consignee,
 owner and receiver of the goods and the holder of the
 Bill of Lading.

MIXED SHIPMENT - means a shipment consisting of articles
 described in and rated under two or more rate itmes of
 this tariff.  See mixed shipment Rule No. 2-060.

MOTOR CARRIER(S) - means participating motor carrier(s).

MOTOR CARRIER'S TERMINAL - means the place where loaded or
 empty containers are received by motor carrier or
 delivered by motor carrier.

MOTOR SERVICE - the movement of cargo via a motor carrier
 to an interchange port with an ocean carrier.  Motor
 services within a commercial zone (CZ) to or from a rail
 ramp or to a pier is not "motor service" within the
 meaning of the definition.

MOTOR-RAIL SERVICE - the movement of cargo by "motor
 service" to a rail terminal and then "rail service" to
 the interchange port.

NON-LOADING PORT - means an origin port not normally, or
 only irregularly served by carrier.

ONE COMMODITY - means any or all of the articles described
 in any one rate item.

ORDINARY CARGO - Cargo not requiring hazardous label
 (Rule No. 16), the use of a tank container or deep tanks
 (Rule No. 2-120), or atmosphere or temperature control
 (Rule No. 2-140), and which is suitable for carrier in a
 dry freight container.

ORIGIN MOTOR TERMINAL (OMT) - A location designated by a
 motor carrier at origin points where (1) the motor
 carrier or his authorized agent assembles, holds, or
 stores ocean carrier's containers and chassis, (2) where
 loaded containers are received from shippers or their
 agents, and (3) where empty containers are delivered to
 shippers or their agents.

ORIGIN RAIL TERMINAL (ORT) - A location designated by rail
 carrier at origin points where (1) the rail carrier or his
 authorized agent assembles, holds, or stores ocean
 carrier's containers and chassis, (2) where loaded
 containers are received from shippers or their agents, or
 where loaded containers are interchanged from motor
 carriers, and (3) where empty containers are delivered
 to shippers or their agents or where empty containers
 are interchanged to motor carriers.

OUTPORT - means a destination port, other than a base port,
 to which rates apply but which may be subject to outport
 arbitraries.

PREPARED - as referred to in connection to foods, means
 further processed other than cut-up or frozen.  Such
 further processing includes but is not limited to
 breaded, cooked, marinated, salted, smoked, dried,
 pickled etc.

RAIL CARRIER - means participating rail carrier or rail
 carriers.

RAIL CARRIER'S TERMINAL - means the place where loaded
 or empty containers are received by rail carrier or
 delivered by rail carrier.

RAIL SERVICE - the movement of cargo via a rail carrier
 from a point of origin to an interchange port with an
 ocean carrier.

RAILCAR - means rail boxcar, flatcar, gondola car, hopper
 car or refrigerated boxcar as defined in The Official
 Railway Equipment Register (See Rule No. 2-300).

RATE - means the tariff rate including terms and conditions
 as may be published elsewhere in this tariff or in
 individual rate items.

RATE BASIS - means the basis on which the commodity is
 rated (e.g. W/M for Weight or Measure whichever creates
 the greater revenue, LS for Lump Sum, EA for each).

REVENUE TON - means W or M as freighted.

SHIPMENT - means a quantity of goods received at one time
 at one origin from one shipper to one consignee.

STORE DOOR PICK-UP - means the ocean carrier will provide
 transportation of cargo from a shipper's place of business
 at carrier's expense, under an interchange with a rail or
 motor carrier to an interchange port.  The ocean carrier
 has the right to exercise complete control over the
 seleciton of inland carrier(s).  See Rule No. 2-260.

STUFFING, UNSTUFFING - means the physical placing of cargo
 into, or the physical removal of cargo from, carrier's
 containers.

TOFC - means trailer on flat car rail service in which
 container on chassis, bogies, or wheels, are loaded to
 rail cars.

TOFC RAIL CARRIER CARRIER'S TERMINAL - means origin rail
 carrier's terminals at which only TOFC containers can be
 handled.

TRAILER OR CONTAINER - means a single, rigid non-disposable
 dry cargo, dropframe, flatbed, flatrack, garment, half
 high, insulated, open top, platform, vehicle rack,
 temperature or atmosphere controlled, tank or top loader
 as defined in the Official Intermodal Equipment Register,
 with or without wheels or bogies; trailers are usually
 inland carrier eundays and holidays from 8:00 a.m.
 to 5:00 p.m.
