1. Rules, regulations and rates published herein apply
BETWEEN Ports on the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf
Coasts of the United States (including Alaska and
the Hawaiian Islands), and U.S. inland and coastal
points via such U.S. ports, on the one hand, AND,
on the other hand, ports on the Mediterranean Sea,
Black Sea, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Gulf,
Gulf of Oman (Aquaba-Karachi range), and inland
and coastal points via such non-U.S. ports (SUBJECT
TO NOTE 1).
 
    NOTE 1: For Eastbound shipments only, Direct
            Calls at Pacific Coast Ports shall be
            SUBJECT to an additional charge of $10.00
            W/M. Rates herein from East Coast Base
            Ports will also apply from Los Angeles for
            Direct Calls for an additional charge of
            $10.00 W/M (For Algorithm, See Subrule 3).
            Not applicable to Cargo, N.O.S. rates.
 
2. DIVERSION OF CARGO:
 
Cargo which Consignees wish to divert to a Port of
Discharge other than that stated in the Bill of
Lading (Stowage Permitting) to be assessed with the
actual expenses incurred, but SUBJECT to a minimum
Diversion Charge of $3.00 per freight ton; for
parcels of less than one freight ton minimum
charge $5.00 in full. Notice of diversion to be given
at least 48 hours before arrival of the vessel at
first U.S. or Continental Port of Call.
 
3. The following shall govern the transfer of cargo by
trucking or other means of transportation at the
expense of the Ocean Carrier.  At Carrier's option,
shipments may be picked up or delivered at a port
other than the originally intended port, for transfer
to another Port of Loading, or to the originally
intended Port of Discharge.  In no event shall any such
transfer or arrangements under which it is performed be
such as to result directly or indirectly in any
lessening or increasing of the cost or expense which the
Shipper would have borne had the shipment loaded or
cleared through the port originally intended.
