All freight and other charges on the Bill of Lading are to be prepaid and due and payable in lawful currency of the United States when billed, except those Shippers or Consignees to whom Carrier has extended due bill privileges. When due bill privileges are granted, all charges must be paid within fifteen (15) days from date of billing. When charges have not been paid to Carrier as of 30 days after the date of the Bill of Lading, an additional fee of 2% of the total charges on the Bill of Lading will be assessed. Carrier may at its option accept cargo on a "Freight Collect" basis on southbound shipments. In such cases, the charge may be paid in local currency. Conversion will be calculated on the basis of the exchange rate effective at the time of collection. On shipment of automobiles, Household goods, Personal Effects and Unaccompanied Baggage, freight and charges must be prepaid. At Carrier's option, freight Northbound can either be collected in U.S. Dollars at point of origin or collected at destination in U.S. dollars. On Southbound shipments, freight must be prepaid in U.S. Dollars in Miami, FL, but at the option of Carrier, can be collected at destination in U.S. Dollars. Both Shipper and Consignee of the goods or articles shipped shall be liable, jointly and severally, for all unpaid charges payable on account of a shipment pursuant to applicable tariffs including, but not confined to, sums advanced or disbursed by Carrier on account of such equipment.
